Spring 2021- Vish Ramkumar formally registers Research! Welcome to the lab, Vish! He’ll make exciting Rh complexes, probe their catalytic activity in homogeneous media and graft them into MOF materials!

Fall 2020- Luz Jimena Barrios joins our research group as a PhD student! Welcome to your research family Jime! Jimena is well versed in the study of MOF materials hailing from the research group of our collaborator and friend Dr. Argel Ilich Ibarra (UNAM). We’ll sure keep on our work with these exciting materials!

Summer 2019 – Dr. Sai Gorla joins our group as a postdoctoral fellow! Welcome on board Sai! He will make first row complexes for catalytic applications.

Spring 2019 – Gaby Sanchez joins our group as a PhD student! Welcome Gaby! Gaby is an excellent student who spent a couple of years as an undergrad student in the Montiel group. She will take on the challenge of making heterobimetallic complexes.

Fall 2018-  Niroshani Abeynayake joins the group as the first graduate student in the Montiel lab at Mississippi State! WELCOME Niro! Niro has great research experience and will be making new polydentate phosphines and groups 9 and 10 complexes. But since she’s our FIRST student at MSU, she’ll be collaborating in many other projects! We’re now together in this adventure or research!

Fall 2018 – August 15, 2018 – WE ARE OFFICIALLY OPEN FOR BUSINESS AT MISSSISSIPPI STATE!!! The Montiel Lab is moving across a physical geographical border and ready to take on this enormous challenge! I’m so excited to be a brand new ChemDawg!!! HAIL STATE!
